Cultural Competency List

Cultural Competency List

Our cultural competency checklist is scaffolded so kaimahi can enter at their level as they develop skills and understanding of a particular kaupapa. It is based on the Māori perspective of the creation story. Te Kore, a state of nothingness, of unrealised potential. Te Pō, the perpetual night, where stirrings of movement and consciousness begin. Te Whai Ao, where the glimmer of dawn begins. Te Ao Mārama, where we burst into life, light and understanding.
