Providing Safe Spaces for Students
18 November
10am – 12noon
Trauma is common and plays a complex role in our lives. Rangatahi/young people may experience trauma in different ways and at different stages of their growth and development. This can impact their sense of safety and belonging, and in turn, their ability to engage at school.
Trauma-informed Education is an approach that uses knowledge about trauma and its effects to create safe learning environments for young students – learn how to create environments that cultivate connectedness and empowerment, model empathy and promote inclusion.
